Full Bio for Dr. Maureen Kelly

With more than 25 years of experience in the mental health and educational fields, I am dedicated to helping adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, expertise, and practical support. My approach combines thorough diagnostic assessment with individualized treatment planning, creating a therapeutic experience that is both clinically sound and deeply personal.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2005, I have worked in a wide variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, outpatient clinics, group homes, correctional facilities, and community-based programs. These experiences have provided me with a broad understanding of the many factors that influence emotional well-being and allow me to meet clients where they are with empathy, insight, and practical guidance.

My educational and professional background spans psychology, counseling, and education. I hold a Doctorate and Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Counseling, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. This diverse training allows me to approach clients’ concerns from multiple perspectives while maintaining a strong focus on accurate diagnosis, effective treatment planning, and practical solutions for lasting change. I am also a certified teacher in Pennsylvania and Washington, DC, which enhances my understanding of learning, development, and the challenges individuals and families may encounter throughout different stages of life.

I have a strong interest in diagnostic assessment and psychological evaluation and believe that accurate diagnosis is an essential foundation for effective treatment. I am certified in the administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), one of the leading assessment tools used in the evaluation of Autism Spectrum Disorder. This specialized training enhances my ability to recognize developmental, behavioral, emotional, and interpersonal concerns and to develop treatment plans that address each client’s unique needs.

Clients often describe me as warm, direct, supportive, and engaging. During our work together, you can expect to be both challenged and encouraged. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful and lasting changes in your life. My goal is not only to help you manage current difficulties, but also to equip you with the tools and insight needed for long-term growth and resilience. For clients who desire it, I am comfortable incorporating a Christian perspective into treatment. I respectfully integrate evidence-based therapeutic approaches with Biblical principles, allowing faith to be included as a source of strength, healing, and personal growth when it is important to the client.

In addition to my clinical practice, I teach psychology courses at local colleges and universities, serve as a Board-Approved LPC Supervisor in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and remain actively involved in volunteer and community service activities. I am passionate about mentoring future mental health professionals and helping to shape the next generation of counselors.

I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University and am currently a Resident in Counseling under the clinical supervision of Dr. Kelly. I enjoy partnering with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families who are experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, identity exploration, eating concerns, and life transitions. I also welcome members of the LGBTQIA+ community and offer faith-integrated counseling for clients who wish to incorporate their spiritual beliefs into therapy.

I believe therapy is a collaborative journey grounded in trust, compassion, and respect. My approach is warm, culturally responsive, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. Drawing on mindfulness and evidence-based practices, I help clients better understand their emotions, develop practical coping skills, strengthen resilience, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.

I also enjoy working alongside parents and families. Parenting children and adolescents through emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges can feel overwhelming, and having support can make a meaningful difference. I help parents develop strategies to improve communication, navigate behavioral challenges, better understand their child’s needs, and foster healthier family relationships.

Above all, I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable being themselves. Whether we are working through a difficult season, building new skills, strengthening relationships, or simply trying to understand what comes next, my goal is to meet clients where they are and support them as they move forward.

Hi Everyone! I am Emani Price, a resident at Coral Cove Counseling LLC, pursuing my journey to become a licensed professional counselor! As a resident in counseling, I empower clients to live authentic, fulfilling lives through strengths-based practices. Using person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and other postmodern techniques, my holistic approach creates a safe space for all clients. Working with minoritized youth, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and couples, my approach improves self-image, encourages a growth mindset, and enhances clients’ overall well-being. I passionately support clients by building a collaborative therapeutic relationship and maintaining a foundation of empathy, understanding, and compassion.

Although I have pursued my passion for helping others since a young age, I decided to advance my education and obtain a degree in Psychology in 2019. In May of 2023, I graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Human Services. With my passion ignited, I immediately went back to Old Dominion to pursue a graduate degree. In May of 2026, I graduated with a Master of Science in Education in both Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling. I have over 5 years of experience working with children and young adults on the autism spectrum in both academic and clinical settings. My experience working with neurodivergent individuals has shaped the way I approach both therapy and everyday interactions. Combined with my diverse training and ongoing commitment to professional development, I am well prepared to support individuals from diverse backgrounds and meet their unique needs.

In my clinical practice, clients will often describe me as supportive, humorous, relatable, warm, and collaborative. Finding the delicate balance between clinical care and authenticity is what sets me apart from other clinicians. With great determination, I strive to prepare clients to manage their daily challenges, build and maintain healthy habits, and create a secure relationship with themselves. If I feel like a good fit for you, let’s work! I look forward to supporting you in this journey called life!

Full Bio for Kelsey Travers

With eight years of experience as a school counselor, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, understanding, and practical support. My experience in school counseling has allowed me to work with adolescents and families experiencing a wide range of academic, emotional, behavioral, social, and life concerns. Through these experiences, I have developed a deep appreciation for the importance of creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.

I am currently a Resident in Counseling in the Commonwealth of Virginia, working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). In addition to my clinical development, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Old Dominion University. My doctoral training continues to strengthen my knowledge of counseling theory, clinical practice, ethics, multicultural counseling, supervision, research, and human development. My approach to counseling is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. I believe that each individual brings unique experiences, strengths, values, and challenges into the counseling relationship. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I strive to understand each client as a whole person and work collaboratively to identify goals that are meaningful to them. I believe counseling should provide both a safe place to process difficult experiences and an opportunity to develop practical tools for creating meaningful change.

My professional experience has provided me with a strong foundation in supporting adolescents and young adults, particularly those navigating anxiety, stress, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, academic concerns, life transitions, and emotional challenges. I also have a strong interest in working with adults as they navigate transitions, relationship concerns, personal growth, and the many demands of everyday life.

As a counselor, I strive to balance empathy with encouragement. Clients can expect me to listen without judgment while also helping them identify patterns, explore perspectives, develop coping strategies, and recognize their own strengths. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and collaboration, allowing clients to feel supported while working toward meaningful and lasting change.

My background in education has also shaped the way I understand mental health and personal development. After spending years supporting students and families within school settings, I recognize how academic, family, social, cultural, and environmental factors can influence emotional well-being. This perspective allows me to consider the whole person and the various systems that may affect their experiences.

As I continue my journey toward LPC licensure, I am committed to ongoing professional growth, ethical practice, and evidence-informed counseling. I am passionate about developing as a clinician and ultimately becoming a counselor who helps individuals feel empowered to better understand themselves, navigate challenges, and create lives that align with their values and goals.
